Not that I'm a huge fan or anything but I just find her interesting from the perspective of being a visual artist. Each year she had a new look and a new image which she sold through her clips. Basically she just released a new model of herself each year..Not dissimilar to the way a manufacturer will release a new model of their product, be it a car or whatever.
I think for this reason she is a really interesting Artist and I would have no problem in drawing parallels between her and say someone like Andy Warhol.
having Said all that probably my favourite clip of hers came much later in her career with the video for Ray of Light. Again just a simple idea done really well.
I also really like the clip she did for Drowned World/Substitute for Love. The bar scene with the distorted faces is done so well. had a couple of nights out on the town like that myself

First time here. I really would love to see you bring some videos form the eighties when MTV first started. I have always been a huge fan of Madonna and your comparison of her to Warhol isn't a far stretch. I actually overheard someone compare Brittney Spears to Madonna and I nearly vomited.
Thanks Kali.
Britney who?...No seriously anyone who makes such a comparison is quite clearly a moron.
Thanks for the suggestion about the 80's clips ,will definitely look into it. Actually going to add a section soon called 'So bad they are good' devoted to clips that are exactly that. The 80's will figure pretty prominently.
"Drowned World/Substitue for Love" is actually one of my favorite Madonna songs. The video is compelling, too. I love the way "things are distorted"; nothing is really true to her except her true love...which in this video I assumed is the love of her daughter.
It's a shame this song was never released as a single in the US. But then again, I have a feeling the majority of our country couldn't truly appreciate it for the masterpiece it is.
While I think comparing Britney to Madonna as an artist isn't really "right," I do think Britney has put out some great [visual] videos.
